The Project
On the outskirts of Cairo, a private birthing hospital asked for a friendly comfortable design for mothers, babies and their support family members who come visit and support overnight.
Feel at Home
It needed to feel like a child and mother hotel suite, instead of a sterile hospital room. With the addition of a comfortable sofa bed, fridge and coffee station, guests are welcome to to sleepover supporting mother and child. The usable design makes sure that coffee table folds easily and is light and can slip with it's wheels under the sofa bed when opened, Making the room spacious and clutter free.
Different color schemes were explored. The yellow scheme proved the most joyful and smile inducing design.
Designing for Healthcare
The bedroom suite was designed in line with infection control specification and healthcare regulations, using the top healthcare brands for patient beds and bedside units.
