Cozily nestled on Tyre, Lebanon, in the old town's beautiful waterfront, Dar Alma, 12 room Hotel, is a guest house that seamlessly blends traditional Lebanese values with international standards, with spacious, comfortable rooms offering breathtaking sea views. A Sea Food restaurant boasting a variety of local & fusion delicacies lies on the beach front.
Etymologically speaking, 'DAR', a word that refers to a HOUSE in Arabic, is embodied by the warm, homey feeling that envelops the guests staying at this establishment. 'ALMA', which means SOUL in Spanish, hints at the positive spirit permeating the entire hotel, which allows our guests to take a few days off from the hustle and bustle of their daily lives, and reconnect with their selves. The owner's mother's name is 'Alma' and her home is right next to the Hotel. The Hotel's brand identity has been designed in alignment with the interior design concept.
Dar Alma was designed using various sustainable and well-being design considerations:
Dar Alma Boutique Hotel sits in the southern city of Tyre, a UNESCO world heritage site overflowing with history and a decidedly Lebanese atmosphere. Tyre, home of the Dar Alma Boutique Hotel, is an ancient Phoenician city. The Building is restored to it's original glory with modern extensions and fittings. Everything has been carefully selected and made to measure to suite the authentic style of the building with a modern feel and comfort level.
The hotel's Accessibility and circulation has been well studied to make use of the location and the beach. Dar Alma, close to Tyre's Phoenician harbor, is accessible through this famous old town's picturesque narrow streets. This guest house will give you the feel of what it's like to live in Tyre. Pedestrian alleys surround it, thus offering you a feeling of tranquility away from the droning noises of the city. The hotel also has a beach terrace and sun deck with direct access to the pristine beaches of this southern coastline, which allows guest to dip their toes in the crystalline waters of the Mediterranean, and swim with our hotel mascots, the turtles of Tyre.
MOLTEN, is a European chain of naturally flavored Macaroon Ice-cream, which also sells natural candy. The project was aimed to create a series of designs for the chain to highlight it's unique identity without being an exact replica of each other.
Some chains offers gift boxes and deserts and while some are cafes. The brand aims to offer healthy treats and gifts, as well as seating for in-house ice-cream, deserts, coffee, tea and juices.
The design is inspired by the shapes of molten ice-cream. The candy and desert display has a bubbly playful effect and the shapes in the ceiling are enticing the symphony of ice cream flavors in one's mouth. The materials will mostly be white washed woods with strikes of vibrant pastels, to balance excitement with a soothing atmosphere. The seating area is casual comfort yet more sophisticated than the usual standing ice cream bar.

After the Beirut blast, many moved out the city to the mountains and coastal towns for a quieter life closer to nature. Carried by hopes and dreams of rebuilding, the birth of this café came forth in the midst of a refusal to die of despair. The young entrepreneurs risked their life savings and went on a journey to make life beautiful again outside of the capital.
The design maximized on the best usage of a small footprint, merging interior and exterior seating and taking full advantage of the sea view and natural light. The curves and mirrors loosen the space and keep the eye wandering and interested. The arched ceiling and earth pastel colors enhance the sense of place and add to the softness of the café to create a refuge moment from the hard time Lebanon is facing, Feminine nurturing and goddess interventions are served to the soul with the food and drinks.
