A hotel in the coastal city of Tangier offering contemporary luxury with Moroccan flavor.
Creating a Sense of Place
A curated relaxed feel & an aura of luster. The Design is based on a simplified Arabian cross combined with octagon shapes & arches. With a playful repeat of various arches & curves, exploring how this shape eases the flow as well as mimics intersecting ripples of water around the fountain, following the octagon grid given by the Lantern on the roof.
Sensual Well-being
Aiming for joyful & cooling summer sensation. Use of natural materials and colors to bestow a cooling feel from the exterior heat. Fountain being the center in the courtyard, like traditional Moroccan “Riad” Houses, with a grand scale of a Hotel. Respecting the area's traditional building heritage that is in tune with it's climate , the courtyard allows air circulation and natural light in the building for well-being and energy efficient use.
Identity
In Keeping with the Modern & Luxury status of the Hotel, the Logo incorporates arabesque like geometric forms with minimalist modernity, and uses black marble and golden brass to define quality.
